Brych and Steinhaus “Arbitrator of the Year”

Felix Brych was appointed “Arbitrator of the Year” after his disappointment at the World Cup in Russia by the German Football Association (DFB). This decision was announced by the Arbitration Committee Elite on Friday.

For the women, Bibiana Steinhaus was awarded “Arbitrator of the Year 2018″. The 39-year-old was the first non-partisan to enter the Bundesliga last season. Highly deserved once again is the award for Bibiana Steinhaus, who fought bravely in her first league season”, Said DFB Vice President Ronny Zimmermann.

The 42-year-old Brych had only been used with his assistants Stefan Lupp and Mark Borsch in the foreplay between Switzerland and Serbia (2:1). Because he refused the Serbs an eleven-meter, Brych was insulted by Serbian coach Mladen Krstajic after the game.

“Too bad he could not crown his otherwise very successful season there. Nevertheless, he deserves great recognition for what he achieved and achieved during the season 2017/2018,”stressed Lutz Michael Freud, Chairman of the Arbitration Commission Elite.

Brych and Steinhaus are awarded on Saturday in Grassau am Chiemsee at the closing event of the Arbitration Training Camp. Brych arrives for the tribute, the Munich had actually received special leave because of his WM operation.
