BVB bosses have a strong salary gap

Football Bundesliga Borussia Dortmund recently delivered a strong sports and economic season. This is also reflected in the salaries of the management. Subsidies for BVB bosses around Hans-Joachim Watzke have increased significantly.

As the “Ruhr News” reports, the leadership trio receives a total remuneration of 3864 million euros for the past season. Managing Director Watzke alone benefits 1,9 million euros. The other two members on the executive floor, financial boss Thomas Tress and marketing boss Carsten Cramer, each receive approximately one million euros.

The salaries of those in charge thus increased by 32 percent compared to the previous year, Watzke had the lowest growth rate of nine percent.

In addition, for all three bonus payments, which were based on the sporting success of Borussia. Watzke then received 720.000 euros again, his two alternates 344.000 euros respectively.

In the last season, the BVB made a turnover of nearly 490 million euros, the profit being at 17.4 million euros. Since Dortmund made less money from transfers than in the previous year, these figures each represented a decrease.
