Formal-1 security as part of Senna’s heritage

25 years after the death of Ayrton Senna, his niece Bianca sees improved safety in formula 1 as an important legacy of the motorsport icon.

I think formula 1 is a much safer sport today. This is also part of his legacy, which he left for the pilots in all racing categories. The cars and routes have become safer. And so much so that serious accidents in Formula One have been much rarer since then,”Bianca Senna told the”German Press Agency”before her uncle’s death.

The three-time World Champion was fatal at the 1st May 1994 Grand Prix of San Marino in Imola.

“I miss him because of the simple, small things of life, family life and our common games. He was a very funny man,”said Bianca Senna, who is the brand director of the Ayrton-Senna Institute in Sao Paulo.”He was a very funny man.” For the Brazilians it was especially his attitude on the track that made him a hero and he loved his country very much.”

The institute was Ayrton Senna’s”most important legacy off the track. We are working to extend the opportunities of children and young people through education,”Bianca Senna said. This was also the dream of the famous uncle.
