Gladbach opens major new construction in Borussia Park

Federal League of Football Borussia Munich has opened a new, 33-million-euro complex right next to its stadium in the presence of DFB President Reinhard Grindel. The building “Borussia-8-Grad” houses a hotel with 131 rooms, the association museum, a fan shop, medical practices, a rehabilitation and fitness centre as well as the management of the association.

“This is a great day for us. What Borussia Munich has done in the last twenty years is enormous,”said Sports Director Max Eberl:”We are a supporter of 50+1. We must therefore see to it that we take a broader view elsewhere. Yes, the hotel will not bring us a new top star, but it will bring us sustainability.”

The building, named after its angle of inclination, was blessed by Monsignor Markus Heinz, who travelled from the Vatican himself.

Impressed was also DFB President Grindel.” For us as DFB, this is an absolute example. As you know, we can finally start our new construction in Frankfurt in April. We also plan different functionalities under one roof. In this respect, we can already cut off a slice that has remained in the time and financial framework. A la bonne heure.”
