Sweden wins Scandinavian Crime and is in the EM final

Record European Champion Sweden plays on Sunday (20:30 clock in against Spain for the title at the Handball EM in Croatia.

With a surprising 35:34 (28:28, 16:14)-Success after prolongation against Denmark in the second semi-final in Zagreb, the Swedes followed the Iberians into the final.

The best players of the victorious Scandinavians were goalkeeper Andreas Palicka of the German champion Rhein-Neckar Lion as well as Mattias Zachrisson: The player of the Fox Berlin was with eight hits best Swedish marksman. On the other hand, the twelve gates of Superstar Mikkel Hansen did not help the Danes either.

While Sweden or Spain will thus compete for the succession of title defenders Germany, The Danes have yet to compete in the third place against the World Champion of France.

The French had also lost surprisingly in the first semi-finals with 23:27 against Spain. The best pitcher of the vice-champion was Ferran Sole with seven hits, for France Cedric Sorhaindo with six goals was the most successful.

For the French, it was the first mandatory event since the 3rd May of last year, when they had lost in the EM qualification in Norway (30:35). In the newly unfulfilled arena in Zagreb, they found hardly any remedy against the superior defense of the Spaniards.
