“Telephone is not silent”: Neururer hopes for S04 return

Peter Neururer hopes to be a trainer at FC Schalke 04.

“I actually said goodbye as a trainer and said that I don’t do anything in German football anymore,” Neururer said at “Sport1”, but reported on two exceptions: “Namely Schalke 04, because I am not doing anything in German football anymore,” said Neururer at “Sport1″. Not only am I a member, but have a special history in this club that not everyone has. And the first. FC Cologne. For these two clubs I would work again.”

With regard to the Schalke, which has been unsuccessful since 18 leagues, the 65-year-old said:”But for the club that would be quite good. My father always used to tell me on the way, “Do what you can.” And that I can do Schalke, I have already proved in worse times.”But he had to”no longer advertise”for himself.

Neururer was already a 1989/1990 coach in Gelsenkirchen and was surprisingly credited to the two-time finalist when Schalke was standing on a platform. At the time, the club preferred Aleksandar Ristic to coach. Nevertheless, Neururer Schalke has always remained connected.

FC Schalke 04: Peter Neururer is besieged by fan clubs

According to his own information, he is regularly besieged after David Wagner’s leave on Sunday. My phone hasn’t stopped ringing since then, my fax machine is overflowing, and I’ve been on the phone until one o’clock on Monday. All Schalke fan clubs report to me,”said Neururer.

The cult coach also referred to his spatial proximity to Schalker Veltins-Arena. I don’t even need my Harley, I can walk to Jochen Schneider’s office. I live only three minutes away from the stadium.”

Addressed to the supposed Schalker top candidates for the coach post, the former Augsburg coach Manuel Baum, Neururer said:”I don’t think I should say anything about this.”

He does, however, consider it”problematic to get a coach who does not already have several crisis situations has handled”. Schalke was “no club to practice. If this does not work, Schalke is Zweitligist”.
